next up… another birthday quilt! this time, it’s for one of my little munchkins in daycare. the fabric is by Windham Fabrics, and is perfectly fitting, the fabric is called ‘homeschool’, and i happen to homeschool my daycare children.
i’m not using a pattern, it’s pretty much a quilt as i go, i am using 2 1/2″ strips of fabric and the printed fabric will be the actual back of the quilt. i have a few ideas whirling around in my head, so we’ll see how this work in progress goes…
i was almost finished with the front of my quilt when my progress came to a grinding halt because of 1 1/2″ of fabric!
i ran out of kona bone, i literally needed 1 1/2″ to finish one last piece of the sashing, and as luck would have it, both joann’s and beverly’s are currently out of stock. so i must venture to the next city to hopefully find it!
so much for my toddler-quilt-in-a-day…
to be continued…..
finished quilt, april 11th.
i added some simple free motion quilting, daisies within each block and loops in the sashing. i didn’t want to quilt to densely, because i wanted this quilt to be soft and cuddly. i used my tried and true double binding technique to finish off this quilt, tutorial here.
