do you have a friend, family member, neighbor, co-worker who enjoys quilting, but you don’t quilt, nor do you know where to begin searching for a gift for someone who does.
one thing about those who love to quilt, they love their quilting gadgets, tools and fabric, so you can’t go wrong if you’re gifting any one or more of those items!
lets get right to the shopping list..
i love my olfa splash 45mm rotary cutter [shown above], mainly because changing the blade is so simple, some rotary cutters are a bit harder to change that ever so sharp blade, and when my blade is dull i want to change it quickly. it’s easily done with the olfa splash.
decorative rotary blades.
olfa also makes an amazing pinking rotary blade as well as others. the pinking rotary makes it so simple to cut around corners as well as straight lines, much simpler than those pinking shears.
self healing cutting mats.
the self healing cutting mats come in many sizes, this is a great gift, because even if we already have a cutting mat, we can never have to many, not to mention they do wear down over time. i love my fiskars 24″ x 36″ seal healing cutting mat, but they come in smaller sizes if space is limited, olfa also makes seal healing cutting mats.
my newest addition is the fiskars rotating cutting mat [shown above], it’s amazing, instead of shifting from side to side around our cutting tables, we can simply rotate the mat, it’s basically a cutting mat on a lazy susan.. brilliant!
quilting rulers, a quilters best friend, next to a sharp rotary cutter, they come in many shapes and sizes, value packs and specialty rulers. a quilter can’t have to many rulers!
omnigrid quilting ruler rack, this is a great way for a quilter to organize their rulers, giving them easy access.
creative grids curved corner cutter, my latest addition to my ruler family. this ruler creates a perfect curved corner every time, in multiple sizes!
invisiGRIP is a clear non-slip material that you place on the back of your rulers to prevent slipping while rotary cutting. it works great, helping to keep your ruler steady.
a sewing and quilting must have, clover wonder clips, each clip opens wide to hold layers of fabric and the clip base is flat for easy feeding to the presser foot. these are great for binding quilts instead of using straight pins, as well as a multitude of sewing projects, a definite must have!
aurifil thread box sets.
aurifil thread box kits are amazing for gift giving, with many sets to choose from. believe me, i’d love to have every set created!
you can never go wrong by giving a gift certificate to their favorite local quilting shop, chain fabric store, or online fabric store. i have a list of great online fabric shops to choose from here.
you can often give a gift certificate for a quilting class too, check with your local quilting shop.
happy gift giving!
